Coldero previews concert for kids
His big show opens tonight, but that did not stop Leon Coldero from giving Belize City school children a free preview this afternoon. News 5 was there.

The children came from Belize City primary schools to the City Centre to watch Leon Coldero and band, Code 868 perform. The concert was free and provided Coldero’s young fans with the opportunity to meet him and dance to the songs they love the best.

“Avianne is this the first time you will be seeing Leon Coldero perform?”
Avianne Flowers, All Saints Primary School
“Yes.”
Jacqueline Woods
“How are you feeling right now?”
Avianne Flowers
“Excited.”
Jacqueline Woods
“What do you like about him?”
Avianne Flowers
“The way he sings.”
Darwin Westby, St. Luke Methodist Upper
“I like his music the most because his music really lets us to dance.”
Jacqueline Woods
“So you plan to do a lot of dancing this afternoon?”
Darwin Westby
“Yes but if our teacher will take us to dance it would be good. This is a very good thing for all the children, who come to this place so they can enjoy themselves. It is for them to enjoy themselves.”
If there were any concerns about the sometimes risqué Coldero performing for a young audience…there was no need to worry. The soca artist kept it down.
Bobby Bennett, Manager, 4×4 Productions
“Because Leon Coldero is a professional. There are several sides to Leon Coldero. There is the side that adults will see tonight. There is the Leon Coldero when he is not performing and then there is the Leon Coldero when he needs to be a professional like with the kids today. His show is going to be very, very clean, no kind of suggestive movements or nothing along that line.”
Meanwhile, the Big Appetite concert gets underway at 10:00 p.m. at the Belize City Centre. Gates open at 9:00 p.m. Reporting for News 5, Jacqueline Woods.
