Thieves Hit BWEL Office in Early Morning Burglary

Alejandro Cowo

An overnight burglary at a fuel depot in Belize City has netted a trio of thieves several electronic items, including a laptop and a cell phone.  According to the security guard at BWEL’s main office, he was accosted by three men who proceeded to tie him up before breaking and entering into the second floor office.  The manager of the company was notified of the theft and upon arriving at the scene, discovered that several items had in fact been stolen.

“The manager of Belize Western Energy Limited at the office on 39 Central American Boulevard, he reported that on the twenty-first [of May], sometime around three in the morning he had a call from his employee, the watchman, and upon his arrival he observed that the building, the second floor of the building, the front door of the building was pried open and stolen from there was a laptop, a cell phone and other things.  What we understand is that the watchman was inside of the small guard hut when three male persons arrived there and they tied him up and they went [ahead] and broke into the building.”
