A Belize City youth was brutally murdered over the weekend. Twenty-one-year-old Alejandro Lauriano was chopped, stabbed and shot to death on Monday night while in Lucky Strike Village, rural Belize. Lauriano was in the company of a relative with whom he had recently been staying. The two men were in the yard socializing when the family member decided to use a latrine, leaving Lauriano alone. Investigators were busy today canvassing the area where twenty-one-year-old Alejandro Robert Lauriano was shot, stabbed and eventually killed. The Belize City youth was found on Monday night face down in a pool of blood. The area where the earth is soaked in blood is where Lauriano fell as he took his last breath. Lauriano was with a relative in Lucky Strike Village in rural Belize. Both men were reportedly socializing in the yard when Lauriano was left alone or so it seems.

“What police gathered so far is that Mr. Lauriano was in the company of another male persons outside of the yard when the person left to go and use the latrine. While he was in the latrine he heard a gunshot and heard Mr. Lauriano screaming for help. Upon exiting and coming out to the yard he observed Mr. Lauriano motionless on the ground.”
A large cut wound was visible on Lauriano’s face. He was also stabbed in his neck. He had a cut wound on his right arm and abrasions on his shoulder. Lauriano was also shot in the abdomen. His killer or killers made sure Lauriano would not survive the brutal attack.

“He was found with apparent chop wounds and apparent gunshot wounds to the body. We are looking as to exactly what motivated this person to carry out this attack on Mr. Lauriano. But from his release from prison we know that he had been receiving threats by the other family members reference to that charge that was levied on him a year ago.”
In March Lauriano’s mother, Bernadine was shot and killed inside their home on Aloe Vera Street. Later that same month, Bernadine’s relative Justin Orellano was also found by a family member shot dead in Lord’s Bank. Also during that month, a then nineteen-year-old Lauriano was charged for the double murder of sixty-four-year-old Theresita Flowers and seventeen-year-old Delcia Blanco, who were fatally shot inside a home on Tibruce Street. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police, Alejandro Cowo, Lauriano recently moved to Lucky Strike Village after being freed from prison. Lauriano was receiving death threats.
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“Yes, he is the same person who was charged about a year ago. The charges were withdrawn from him based on the advice of the D.P.P.’s office and he was released. We understand that he was in San Ignacio and just recently he moved to Lucky Strike Village.”

“Do you all suspect that maybe that has some involvement in his murder yesterday or this morning?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“That is one point that we have to consider.”
At the scene, investigators retrieved two expended shells. Several persons were questioned. One suspect is in police custody. Hipolito Novelo, News Five.
