Police Officer Freed of ‘Harm’ Charge after Ex-Girlfriend Withdraws Charges
Also in the courts today, PC Leon Bradley was freed from the charge of harm. This was after his estranged girlfriend twenty-year-old Ashley Pate told the court that she does not want to proceed with legal actions against the twenty-four-year-old police officer. In April, PC Bradley was arraigned before Magistrate Emmerson Banner after he was reportedly involved in an altercation with Pate. Back then Pate, expressed that she did not want court action but because she was not able to produce an identification card for the court to proceed with her request, PC Bradley was charged and offered bail of five hundred dollars which he met. Before Pate’s request to withdraw the charge was granted, she told Magistrate Michelle Trapp today that she was not being forced to do so, threatened, or promised anything by PC Bradley. While Bradley got off that charge, he still has to answer to the Belize Police Tribunal for his conduct as a police officer which led to him being criminally charged.
