Ramadan has Ended

Imam Naveed Mangla

The month of Ramadan has come to an end.  It is a month-long period of fasting for persons of Islamic faith.  To celebrate the passing of Ramadan, the Ahmadiyah Muslim Jamaat is inviting everyone to attend its annual Iftar dinner to be held at the Gateway Youth Center on Saturday evening.  It is an opportunity, according to Imam Naveed Mangla, to learn about Ramadan and what it means to Muslims across the world.

Imam Naveed Mangla, Ahmadiyah Muslim Jamaat

“Every year, Muslims go through the month of Ramadan which is fasting from morning to evening to sunset.  So every year we have our annual Iftar dinner which is to invite from different faiths to come and break the fast with us and the reason or the wisdom behind it is that our teachings state that fasting is something that’s not just unique to Muslims but for Islam people were fasting too in their own way.  Not the way that we fast but there is some sort of fasting that’s found in every religion.  So we celebrate this day to get everybody together and just talk about the importance of fasting in different religions and generally to come and have dinner with us.  So this will be going on on Saturday at the Gateway Youth Center from 5:30 ‘til 7:30.  So any of you that are out there and would like to come and have dinner with us, you’re most welcome to come and learn a little bit more on the unique month of fasting.”
