Two charged with murder in bar brawl
Police have arrested and charged twenty-seven year old Wilhelm Coye, a resident of Camalote Village with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, driving an unlicensed, uninsured motor vehicle and drunk driving. The charges come as the result of a traffic accident on Friday in Belmopan in which Coye knocked down Elizabeth Hellis, a twenty-year old woman who was six months pregnant. She and the unborn child later died at the K.H.M.H. It is reported that Hellis was walking on the San Martin Road when she was hit by Coye’s Toyota Camry.
Police have also charged Manuelito Castillo, twenty-three and Oswald Jimenez twenty-four, both of Roaring Creek Village, with murder and the use of deadly means of harm. The charges are in connection with the stabbing death of Sergio Sanchez during a brawl at the Arrecife Bar in Belize City on Saturday. Four other men who were also involved in the fight received stab wounds.
