New routes for O.W. bus companies
The controversy over bus routes that sparked the July thirtieth riot on the Tower Hill Bridge has been resolved. In a meeting today at the Ministry of Works and Transport office in Belize City, officials met with owners of both Tillett’s Bus Company and Castillo’s Bus Service. A government press release says the talks were cordial and constructive and have resulted in the following agreements: Tillett’s expired permit from San Felipe to Belize City was renewed for one year effective July twenty-eighth and Castillo will now be allowed to pick up fare paying passengers along the Northern Highway, but only as far as Carmelita. It was further agreed that the two operations will help the Transport Department educate commuters with respect to the running of their routes.
