Caye Caulker to replant coconuts
Last November when Hurricane Keith hit Belize it not only destroyed many homes on the island of Caye Caulker, but ruined most of cayes’ greenery including many coconut trees. To help restore the scenic beauty of the island, Agriculture Minister Daniel Silva this week donated five hundred coconut seedlings to the Caye Caulker Village Council. The seedlings valued at three thousand dollars, were produced through a coconut hybridisation project based at Central Farm.
