John Franklin finally charged in Sikaffy robbery
Nineteen year old John Franklin, who was shot as he tried to rob Sikaffy’s Store on Albert Street, has been charged for his crime. Franklin is charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of keeping an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He remains in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital suffering from gunshots wounds to his upper body and is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a collapsed left lung. He and Erlin Budram attempted to rob Sikaffy and his wife inside their store on July tenth. Budram, who received a gunshot wound to his back died on July twelfth, the day before he was scheduled to leave the country to undergo further medical treatment in Merida.
