Digi Learn is Coming to a School Near You

A new educational initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Education and B.T.L., known as Digi Learn, will be rolled out across the country in the weeks ahead. The program sees internet based learning being offered to schools across Belize following a pilot project that was introduced to nine schools in 2017.  With the success of the program there is a move to bring this powerful tool to the masses of students with access to the internet.  On Thursday evening, Digi Learn was officially launched by M.O.E. and Digi officials.

“Digi Learn was piloted in nine schools and from the time that has happened and with the support from Digi.  The teachers have been commenting about the excitement of the students.  The students are so participatory, how they are so very attentive.  Students who are normally not attending school regularly.  There is the need for less paper, less ink.  I mean the children can use their creativity, they are very in tuned, they are very interested.”

“The Digi Learn platform or the Digi Learn system is more than just a software, it‘s an idea.  It‘s a belief that together we can create a better future for the young minds that have lots of creativity, lots of potential and with what we are putting together they can build on this creativity and develop to its fullest potential their ideas.  It‘s not just us, it‘s a partnership between the schools and the principals BCAPS and BAPS with faith-based organizations such as INDEGAP under the leadership of Maria Zabaneh with the Ministry of Education under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Faber and the entire Digi family.  Our employees are working and very excited about this project.  It‘s not only good for the company, it‘s great for the country and it‘s great for the future.  We believe that children who have access to digital learning will become much better customers for us and will become future potential employees for Digi who will bring the country to a whole new level.  For us, this is not a program, this is an idea, it’s a belief that together, even though there are lots of hardships and there might be some cynicism along the way, in our humble way we can go along to make a massive transformation.”
