Credit Master Systems Launches App
The Complaint Information System, or CMS, is an essential partner in the economic growth and development of Belize. It is a collection agency that was established in 1993 by Maurice Underwood to collect bad debts for Quick Cash Card and JL’s Quick Loan. The system keeps track of complaints that have been lodged by the private and public sector against consumers and the amount of complaints that have been settled. The information is then compiled and put into a formula that assists businesses and consumers in making more informed decisions by checking on a consumer’s Complaint Score. Today CMS announced the launch of a mobile application for its information system.
Sharreth Palmer, Executive Manager, CMS
“The C Score comprises of two numbers. The first number is the amount of complaints that have been lodged against you. The second number is the amount of complaints that have been settled. In addition to that, it also has a negative and a positive. A negative is an indication that the person is making no payments. So, for example, if the person has a two-zero negative that would mean that two complaints would have been lodged against them and there have been no payments towards those debts. If a person has two-zero positive that would indicate if the person is making payment towards the debt. And so, in 2009 we created a link that allowed the businesses to tap into that web portal and do checks on consumers. Since then, and with new technology we have now partnered with Smart and now in partnering with Smart, we now have the CMS Info-Net app that is available on your cell phone. Now this is only available to Speednet telephone users at this moment.”
