Purse Found, But Still No Arrest in Murder of Yanira Novelo

Twenty-four-year-old Yanira Novelo, a mother of two from San Jose Village in Orange Walk District, was murdered on her son’s fourth birthday during a deadly attack that also saw the child injured.  It is believed that Novelo was robbed and killed and her son, Alexander, was stabbed in the abdomen but managed to make his way to the road where he was fund. .  The incident happened on July eighth and since then investigators have made very little progress with cracking the case, save for the discovery of Novelo’s purse about a mile away from where she was murdered.
