No Arrests for Everaldo Samayoa’s Fatal Stabbing

According to Juan, he and his brothers were then leaving the casino when Castillo allegedly followed them into the parking lot and attacked them from the rear.

“When a lady hollered at us, he is coming with a knife, run! But when she said that the security was already like four, five feet from us.  The security came after, he attacked us when we were already leaving. Yes, it was from the back he attacked us. He attacked us because he came in a very angry way. I don’t know who got stabbed first from me or Marlon Samayoa. I can say yes Everaldo who passed away he got stabbed last. But yes the security attacked us from behind us. I didn’t feel that he stabbed me. I found out when I reach home because I took off my shirt and my wife told me that I have a cut on my back. I don’t know how they are saying that we attacked the security first. I don’t know how they are saying that we had a machete. At no moment we had a machete. At no moment we were escorted from the casino. At no moment did the security told us the casino news.”

Today at the biweekly press briefing, ACP Joseph Myvett would not field questions on the record, saying that there is no update to the investigation.  We do note, however, that one person was detained for questioning. That person, according to the Samayoa family, was released on Sunday without any charges.
