Ministry of National Security Clarifies B.D.F. Salary Adjustments
The Ministry of National Security issued a press release late this evening to clarify false information which has been circulating in the public domain. According to the ministry, back in May they announced that an exercise was completed to correct an issue in the yearly increments for warrant officers, non-commissioned officers and privates of the B.D.F, effective June first. That adjustment provided a slight increase in most cases for the serving enlisted members of the Force. The ministry says that there were some errors made which affected soldiers above the rank of Private. Those mistakes were corrected last month and still resulted in a salary increase prior to June 2019. The release states that members were advised of the corrections even before they were made. It goes on to say, “With respect to the recovery of overpayment, it has been confirmed that no payments were recovered as of date; however, all serving members of the B.D.F. were deducted one day’s pay for the annual contribution to the B.D.F. Benevolent Fund which is done in July of each year.” Members of the Force are advised to request a detail breakdown of their salary from their unit headquarters for further clarification.
