Scotland Half-moon Resident Arraigned for Big Drug Bust
A Scotland Half-moon resident is behind bars following his arraignment for a huge amount of marijuana. He is forty-two-year-old Joel Sutherland, a construction worker from rural Belize District. Sutherland, who was represented in court by attorney Kathleen Lewis, appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford. He was read a single charge of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply to another person or persons for the purpose of drug trafficking in the amount of twelve thousand four hundred and sixty-five grams, which is equivalent to thirty pounds of weed. He pleaded not guilty and due to the amount of drugs, he could not be granted bail and is on remand until October nineteenth when he is to return to court. Sutherland was busted with the high grade Mexican weed on Friday, August sixteenth, 2019.
