Doctor Babb says that these teachers will automatically receive their licenses.
Dr. Carol Babb, Chief Education Officer
“We had a very good meeting with the Belize National Teachers Union Council of Management and we discuss the renewal of teachers licenses. The union realizes that it is the rule and so all teachers are aware of the rule and are expected to uphold the rule. A teacher who has a full license must maintain that license and after five years he or she must indicate that he or she has done a hundred and twenty clock hours. So if a teacher has done then that is fine. From the teachers who had full licenses from 2014 and before we are requiring them to indicate evidence of any CDP hours. So their license will automatically be renewed. Now we are giving the other teachers who did not renew their license from 2015 and beyond that they need to come in and we are extending the time from up to the first of December.”
