Kevin Hyde Was Murdered A Stone’s Throw from Police Station
Kevin Hyde was waiting on a bus so he can report to work at City Hall. He was under the bus shed in Hattieville village under the nose of the police and a police checkpoint. Unfortunately, the checkpoint was dormant but officers were inside the station when shots rang out. The Hyde family in Hattieville is upset at what they describe as the inadequate and slow response from the police in the village.
Marie Shepherd, Mother of Deceased
“They should have done their duty the right way. My son left here an hour to go and work and get killed and they could not save him. The police station is here and the shed is here. And you want to tell me that you heard the first shot and you are not to show up the first time that they heard the first shot. The police should have been out there. You will tell me that you couldn’t run and come out, where are the rest of policemen? This boy got so many shots in his body. So many shots and police says it is seven shots. Where were the police officers? It was big day. They were on foot. What happened to their vehicles? If they circled in their three vehicle, don’t you think they would have caught the gunman? But you know what happened to those policemen, I don’t care if they get vex, anytime those policemen come at Hattieville they sit down and rest. They don’t do their job, when they suppose to be circling around the village and see what is taking place. Morning, noon and night they sit down in AC. They sit down eating their noodles and doing what they want.”
