The 2019 National September Celebrations Calendar
The 2019 National September Celebrations Calendar has been released and is now available online and at municipalities across the country. The calendar has all the details on highly anticipated events such as the national Queen of the Bay Pageant, the Carnival King and Queen Competition and Carnival Road Marches in several municipalities. As NICH’s Neil Hall told us today, the calendar is also a guide to the many national events that showcase patriotism, an appreciation of historical achievements and love for Belize.
Neil Hall, Communications & Marketing Officer, NICH
“Expect September Celebrations. We are you a glimpse into the month of activities ranging from the national activities to some of the more profit-geared activities. Some of the promoters and concerts have listed their events on the playbill so that it is not only available for us here locally on television and on radio but also for the international public who look out for the playbill so that they can then plan their vacations and events when they come to Belize. And of course, for us locally, for us Belizeans through and through at heart—here and the ones abroad—it allows us an opportunity to remember what September is truly all about, the patriotic side of it and of course the nationalistic side of the September celebrations. The events are submitted by the municipalities; so for example the events that were listed under Corozal were sent to us by the Corozal Town Council; Belmopan, Punta Gorda, etc. And what they did was that they put out feelers towards their community and said what are the events that we are having this year. If you notice in the playbill, you have certain events that are not necessarily patriotic and national events; they are simply events. And it is something that is opened for people in different areas, the different municipalities, to take advantage of if they so desire.”
