Chinese restaurant owner shot, robbed
A Mother’s Day shooting incident has left a Chinese businesswoman of Orange Walk Town in a stable condition and six men on the run. Police say around 7:30 Sunday night the men entered Taisan’s Restaurant on Queen Victoria Avenue and ordered food and drink from Yu Fa Chen, the owner. After they finished eating, the men approached the counter and instead of paying, one of them pulled out a handgun and shot Chen in the shoulder. As if that weren’t enough, they also robbed the establishment of eight hundred dollars and escaped in a car. Police set up roadblocks to stop the assailants, but they have so far been unsuccessful. The license plate of the getaway car is registered as D-1058.
