A Home Invasion in King’s Park
There was a scary home invasion in the neighbourhood of King’s Park, Belize City. The aggravated burglary occurred around seven-fifteen on September twenty-seventh at the corner of Nursey and Saint Joseph Streets. A mother and her daughter were inside their elevated wooden house when they were accosted by three men. According to the report made to the Crimes Investigation Branch personnel, the thieves entered the house; one was armed with a gun and the other with a knife. The mother and daughter were bound with duck tape before the rooms were ransacked. When we visited the area today, News Five was informed that a substantive amount of cash was stolen, but that is unconfirmed. There is also a report that jewellery was stolen as well as a Rose Gold J-Four cell phone, a Black Samsung Galaxy S-Nine cell phone and a Blue Samsung Galaxy cell phone as well as an undisclosed amount of cash in fifty dollar notes. Police have canvassed the area and obtained useful information. During the police briefing today, ACP Joseph Myvett, however, told the media that he didn’t have information on the home invasion.
