Holy Redeemer Credit Union members who have saved regularly, borrowed wisely, and paid back promptly, stand to benefit from some surprises at tonight’s general meeting. President of H.R.C.U., Karl H. Menzies, says the fifty-seventh annual assembly begins at 7:30 at St. John’s College Gymnasium on Princess Margaret Drive.

“The assets has grown from a hundred and twenty million, to a hundred and forty-three million, almost two million a month. That’s the sort of bumper year we have and there are many other big improvements. Savings have increased considerably, but I won’t say too much now because I want everybody to come and hear and see for themselves all the good things that has been happening at the credit union, how people are learning to save and they’re learning to borrow and repay their loans. There’ll be other surprises as well.”

Ann-Marie Williams

“Since it’s a good year for the actual movement, zero in a bit as to what people can expect for the night of the meeting.”

Karl H. Menzies

“Well, they can expect a good rebate, those who have paid their loans according to plan and religiously, they will get a big rebate. They’ll get good dividends on their savings.”

Ann-Marie Williams

“What about the usual prizes for the night?”

Karl H. Menzies

“Oh yes, they’ll be the usual prizes, bigger and better.”

Holy Redeemer Credit Union began in 1944 and has grown to a membership of over thirty thousand, making it the largest credit union in the country, and one of the nation’s major financial institutions.
