10 injured as runaway truck wipes out border post
More details have emerged on a bizarre traffic accident at the Western Border, which resulted in ten injuries and the destruction of a building. It seems that around 4:00 Tuesday afternoon, a truck en route from Benque Viejo to the border, lost its brakes while descending a hill. Driver Cecilio Neal of Santa Elena, Cayo, lost control of the vehicle as it barrelled towards the frontier complex. When the dust cleared, the truck had rammed the small wooden building, housing the recently created Border Management Agency, pushing it twenty-six feet off it’s foundation. As luck would have it, at that moment a meeting was taking place inside between officials and local vendors. Ten people were injured. All of them were treated and released with the exception of one woman who received a broken collarbone. Neal is expected to be charged with various traffic offences.
