Princess visits on Tuesday
No sooner will the nation begin its return to normalcy after the four-day holiday weekend, then the routine will be interrupted again. This time the occasion is the visit of Princess Anne, who, we are told is more properly known as the Princess Royal. Anyway, the fifty-year old only daughter of the Queen and Duke rolls into the P.G.I.A. around 4:30 on Tuesday and departs Friday morning at 8:00. Her time in between will be spent doing those things that royalty does best…visiting places, opening things, giving and receiving gifts, being feted at dinners and, above all, smiling. Among the stops on her tour are Blue Creek Village in Orange Walk, the Belize Zoo and BATSUB. We are told that she will not give any public speeches, the press will not be allowed to interview her and will in fact only be permitted to take photographs from a distance on six different occasions, two of which are the airport arrival and departure.
