“Not So Fast Saldivar, I am Running Independent” – Boss P
Today, applications to contest positions in the U.D.P. Executive closed. As we have been reporting, the big election will be for the new leader of the U.D.P. between Patrick Faber and John Saldivar. Both are lining up the ducks with Saldivar putting up a slate. But in the south, Clifford “Boss P” Peters says, “Not so fast John, I am not on your slate.” If you have been following social media, John Saldivar, has posted a roster of candidates for the available posts. That slate includes Peters, the sibling of Dangriga Mayor Francis Humphreys who is an ardent supporter of Faber. On Wednesday, he told the media his bid for vice chairman is independent.

“I am running independent for the candidacy of the vice chairman. That position is important for me to show that you do not pick side because in Dangriga, usually that has divided us in the past and has caused great controversy and has hurt our society more than any other society.”

“So are you on team Saldivar?”
Clifford Peters
“No sir, I am running independently.”

“How did your name get on Team Saldivar’s slate?”
Clifford Peters
“Well me and the Minister Mr. Mena are back united for the upcoming election. My brother who is the mayor would have contested him in a convention but we sat down and we talked it out and we have decided that Mr. Mena is the right person to represent us and it would do us more harm than good.”
