Shopkeeper arrested for shooting at customer
A Chinese shopkeeper being shot at in a robbery attempt is no longer major news, but on Monday the gun was in the other hand and the merchant who did the shooting has been arrested. Police say thirty-five year old Renel Sanker of Mahogany Street in Belize City went to buy an ideal at Bing Quan Chen’s shop on the same street, and paid with a two-dollar bill. When Sanker asked for his change Chen got into an argument with him, claiming that he never did pay for the ideal. As a result Chen pulled out a handgun and fired two shots at Sanker… but they both missed. Bing Quan Chen was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court today on charges of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm in public.
