A New Emergency Operations Center for NEMO in Toledo

The U.S. Embassy in Belmopan and the United States Southern Command have donated a modern emergency operations centre and disaster relief warehouse facility to the National Emergency Management Organization for the Toledo District.  Southern Belize is now equipped with a platform which will be utilized by NEMO to plan, coordinate and launch relief operations for affected populations in the event of an emergency.  The facility which comes with an emergency radio, satellite television and communication system, among other emergency equipment will help to ensure that residents of Toledo will be given similar attention and priority that is given to Orange Walk, Belmopan and Independence Village where other facilities exist.
