Another farm robbed, this time in Cayo
On Tuesday a farm watchman was terrorized and shot in the course of the robbery of a farm off the Northern Highway. Today we learn that on Wednesday a similar incident occurred, this time near the Western Highway in Cayo. Forty-six year old Jesus Alas told police that after six in the evening two men arrived at the farm he minds near Teakettle, and were soon followed by four more, armed with shotguns and pistols. They asked the whereabouts of the farm’s owner, Raphael Gallardo, and when told he was not there, they decided to wait for him, helping themselves to a couple of the farm’s chickens for dinner. After four tense hours of waiting with no Gallardo in sight, the gang of six tied up Alas and his wife, and then proceeded to rob him of over fifteen hundred dollars in cash, his passport, tape recorder and clothing. They also took a sixteen guage shotgun belonging to Gallardo. The robbers fled into the night and are yet to be captured by police.
