New buildings for BDF in Orange Walk
The Belize Defence Force is constructing a new officer’s quarters for “H” Company. Funds for the fifty thousand dollar building located at Eyles Camp in Orange Walk Town are being provided by the Ministry of National Security. Brigadier General Cedric Borland says that the facility will greatly improve the living conditions of the soldiers.

“We are going to erect a building thirty-five by sixty-five feet and it’s going to accommodate the officers and senior NCO’s, that’s Non-Commissioned Officers. We are going to have a female accommodation, and we are also going to have an office block and an operations room. Presently all those elements are being housed in the porta cabins. And these cabins have well lived out their time now and we see the need now to erect an adequate building.”
Borland says that the BDF’s engineering platoon will be constructing the facility and it should be completed within the next three months.
