Cayo police still searching for clues in Mario Chi’s murder
And in the west, a Santa Elena taxi driver was murdered in cold blood in front of his family on Sunday night and today the police are still searching for clues. Two persons of interest were initially detained for the fatal shooting of thirty year old Mario Chi. They are still in police custody being questioned, but no charges have been levied as yet. While the cops follow their leads, Chi’s common-law-wife, who witnessed the shooting, believes her ex-husband is behind the murder. Anna Elizabeth Uck says her ex-husband could not accept that their relationship was over and she was moving on with her life. She told News Five that he called their home and threatened them several times before the incident occurred. Chi, Uck and her three children had just finished supper and were playing a game at the table when a man walked into their home with a shirt tied over his face and shot Chi. The family rushed to the hospital with him, but Chi died on the way there.
