Police recover six stolen guns
Police have announced the long awaited break in the case of eleven high powered weapons stolen from their Belmopan armoury on January twenty-ninth. An official release this morning cites the recovery of six of the weapons and asks the public for assistance in finding the rest. Police press officer G. Michael Reid told News 5 that due to the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation, no details could be released about the detention of any suspects, location of the confiscated guns or even their description. That information is expected to come tomorrow as police attempt to put together an ironclad case on what is undoubtedly an inside job. The weapons stolen were two tech nines, four Sterling sub-machine guns, four M-16’s and a single pump action shotgun. Late word just in from Belmopan is that two Dragon Unit personnel have been detained for questioning.
