Dr. Lisa Johnson is UB’s Dean of Health Sciences

Doctor Lisa Johnson has been named as UB’s Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. According to a press release from UB, as dean, Johnson will lead development and implementation of UB’s plans for the future of the Faculty of Health Sciences, particularly its National School of Medicine. Johnson is also expected to deepen the university’s partnerships with Belize’s health care industry. UB says that Johnson emerged as the leading candidate for the role after they conducted a national and international search. They cite her distinguished professional career, diverse background and administrative experience as some of the factors that landed her the job. Johnson, who will serve as an assistant professor of the faculty, assumes the post of Dean effective January sixth, 2020 and will be based at UB’s Belmopan Campus.
