Contestants prepare for Miss E.P. Yorke
Holy Redeemer Parish Hall comes alive Friday night at 7:00 p.m. with the biennial Miss E.P. Yorke Pageant. Seven contestants representing the four forms at the high school will compete in the talent section, evening gowns and a question and answer segment. Pageant coordinator Carmita Velasquez says the event builds school spirit.

“It’s definitely not a beauty pageant. It’s more of a talent show, and it shows how capable these girls are. So I believe that the girl who will win, she will have the responsibility of representing the school in various functions and to uphold all that the school stands for.”
“Basically it’s to fundraise. We need funds to build a fence, so we think that whatever proceeds we get from this pageant, will go to at least setting the foundation.”
Tickets for Miss E.P. Yorke can be bought from students of the institution or at the door on the evening of the pageant for five dollars. Show time is 7:00 p.m.
