Robberies continue in Belize City

This latest robbery in Belize City will no doubt be reflected in the February crime statistics. Around nine Monday night three men wearing masks and carrying guns held up Sen Sen Grocery on Daly Street. Proprietor Wu Sio Yai handed over two hundred dollars and the robbers escaped.

In other crime news, two brothers, Juan and Albert Fuentes were jacked by a gunman and three accomplices around ten Monday night in front of their house on Mapp Street. Albert gave up nine dollars, but his brother was shot in the stomach. Before fleeing, the gunman also took a bicycle from inside the house. Juan Fuentes lies in serious condition at the KHMH. His assailants fled in a gray car with license plate D1339 and are still at large.
