San Pedro woman killed by ex-lover

Temptation Island turned deadly over the weekend as a San Pedro man stabbed and killed his ex-lover. Around 8:00 Saturday night twenty-one year old Consuelo Pinelo, of Caribena Street took her child to use the latrine when she was confronted by her twenty-six year old ex-boyfriend Edgar Chan. Chan, apparently angry over the broken romance, began to hit Pinelo repeatedly. After the beating finally stopped the pair argued for several hours when Chan allegedly slammed her against a wall and slashed her right shoulder with a ten-inch knife. Only then did her stepfather, Jervis Ramirez, who was inside the house, decided to get involved. As he ran towards his front door, he too was stabbed and received cuts to the left elbow. Ramirez eventually reached the police but by the time he returned with help he found Pinelo lying on the ground bleeding profusely from her right thigh. She was taken to the San Pedro Clinic but died around one on Sunday morning. Police subsequently apprehended Edgar Chan and charged him with murder.
