Fires in Orange Walk and Dangriga Leave 2 Families Homeless

Tragedy struck two families over the Christmas holidays in Orange Walk and Dangriga when their homes were destroyed by fire. Just before nine p.m. on Christmas Day, police responded to a report of a fire on Santa Familia Street in Orange Walk Town where a wooden house was engulfed in flames. Daniel Novelo reportedly left his home and would later be notified that it was on fire. The value of the building and its contents are yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile on Christmas Eve in Dangriga, a wooden structure with thatched roof was destroyed by fire. Homeowner Domingo Cal reported that no one was at home when the blaze erupted inside the structure. Police are investigating.
