A Repeat Offender is Arraigned for Drug Possession
Thirty-seven-year-old Leon Soberanis is no stranger to the law. This morning, the Belize City resident he found himself yet again before the lower court. While he was granted bail for a drug possession charge, he needs to cover a minimum of five hundred dollars in previous fines which amount to over one thousand dollars, before he is free to go. At the arraignment, Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson read the charge to him to which he pleaded not guilty. Soberanis was granted bail in the sum of six hundred dollars, plus one surety. According to the court document, he had been found in possession of twenty-six point seven grams of cannabis. The case was adjourned to February 19th, 2020.
