Faber and Saldivar Issue Prime Ministerial Messages to Taiwanese Government

Two letters were dispatched today to the government and people of Taiwan. One was from the acting Prime Minister Patrick Faber to the President of Taiwan and the other was from Minister of National Security, John Saldivar, to Taiwan’s Ambassador in Belize. Now, as you know the two will go head to head in February, for the leadership of the U.D.P.  But today, both sent off prime ministerial messages in the name of the people and government of Belize on the same matter.  It involves the loss of life of the Chief of the General Staff of Ministry of National Defense General Shen Yi-ming and other high ranking military officers.  The officers were killed in a helicopter accident.  Faber extends solidarity and support to the grieving nation and offers condolences to the families of those who perished in the Black Hawk accident.  Saldivar also extends support for Taiwan and its military and calls that county one of Belize’s greatest allies.  As we understand it, the protocol is that one speaks on the behalf of the government and people, while the other should address his counterpart.
