Prime Minister to Kentucky, Barbados
Leaving the country over the weekend was Prime Minister Said Musa. His first stop was the University of Kentucky in Louisville, where he is addressing the students and faculty, as well as meeting with potential investors. The university has a long history of cooperation with Belizean educational institutions. From the Blue Grass State Musa will fly to Barbados for the Twelfth Intercessional CARICOM Summit. High on the summit’s agenda is the signing of the agreement establishing the Caribbean Court of Justice. At opening ceremonies on Wednesday former prime minister George Price will be among three distinguished citizens of the region to be conferred with the Order of CARICOM. The other two are PAHO director Sir George Alleyne and Calypsonian Slinger Francisco, better known as the Mighty Sparrow. News 5 will broadcast the two-hour opening ceremony live, beginning at three Wednesday afternoon. Accompanying the P.M. to Bridgetown will be Senator Eamon Courtney and Foreign Service Officer Lawrence Sylvestre.
