Art exhibition heads for Guatemala
The illegal settlers at Machaquila, Rio Blanco and Valentin Camp are not the only ones about to cross the border. An exhibition of Belizean art will also be migrating to Guatemala for the Sixth International Festival of Popular Art. The show, which opens February 15th in the colonial capital of Antigua, will feature ten Belizean pieces from artists Michael Gordon, Joan Lamb, Sandra March and Benjamin Nicholas. The man accompanying the paintings is none other than the Image Factory’s Gilvano Swasey. Freshly armed with his M.B.E., Swasey should have no problem conquering the Guatemalan art scene.
