Bad cheque artist caught by police
There’s an old saying that a thief can steal more money with a pen than he can with a gun. That may be true… but only if you don’t get caught. According to police, one Ermino Martin used his pen to write a string of cheques to local nightspots over the last month, all of which bounced higher than a basketball made of flubber. Martin appeared in court today where he was charged with numerous counts of obtaining property by deception. He was offered and met bail of two thousand, five hundred dollars. We assume he paid in cash.
