John Briceño says P.U.P. is Ready for General Elections
On the topic of elections, the United Democratic Party will be holding its leadership convention in February. Patrick Faber and John Saldivar are going head to head to replace Prime Minister Dean Barrow as U.D.P. leader. The victor will go against John Briceño and rumours are swirling that elections may be called as early as April. Though unconfirmed, Briceño says that the Opposition is battle-ready.
John Briceño, Leader of the Opposition
“The Prime Minister is giving mixed signals and one time he said that he going to step down when the new leader is elected and another time he said he will stay until the end and he is going to call the elections. To us it does not matter, we are working on our policies. We should have most of our policies ready by the end of this month. We have been organizing all the constituencies and get battle ready. So if they want to have an early elections great for us and if they want to have a late elections then nimodos we just have to wait.”

“Is the P.U.P. ready in terms of mobilization and financing?”
John Briceño
“Well certainly we are ready with mobilization and financing like in everything you work on that on a daily bases to ensure that we can have enough, not to be able to match the U.D.P. government. We will never be able to do that but we are working in having certainly enough to have our campaigners, the necessary machinery to be able to have a victory when they call elections.”
