Two charged with double murder

Police have charged Twenty-one year-old Edward “Praca” Westby and twenty-four year-old Jason Williams, both of Supal Street of Belize City in connection with the brutal double murder of two children. On Monday, sixteen-month old Claymar Monsanto and eleven year-old Francis Maximo were gunned down in what appeared to be an attempt on the life of Claymar’s father, Clay Monsanto. Up to newstime police say they have questioned several people including a number of gang members. Westby was detained on Monday and Williams was picked up by police on Tuesday evening. The shooting deaths occurred in broad daylight in the Mahogany Street Extension area of the city. The pair is expected to appear in Magistrate’s Court on Thursday morning.
