Akeem Baptist is Committed to Stand Trial
Magistrate Aretha Ford today committed Akeem Baptist to stand trial in the Supreme Court’s February session. Baptist is charged with Using Deadly Means of Harm and Wounding upon Amira Fernandez on September thirteenth, 2019 at Western Paradise off the George Price Highway. The prosecution alleges that Baptist aggressed and wounded Fernandez with a knife on that day. As part of its case against Baptist, the prosecution has tendered as evidence, witness statements from seven persons, including Fernandez, plus photos and a Medico Legal Form specifying the injuries which Fernandez allegedly suffered. Baptist is out on bail of ten thousand dollars in the form of two sureties of five thousand each. He is represented by Attorney Leesha Barrow.
