Benefit concert series opens tonight
New York gospel singer Rhonda Reid will tonight warm the hearts of Belizeans at a concert at St. Mary’s Church. Although the event is free you’re asked to give generously as proceeds will be used to subsidize the St. Mary’s School feeding programme.

“We’ll be having the “Lord is my Light”, it’s a very classical number written in the 1800s, this morning I did “His eyes on the Sparrow.” It’s quite a mixture of different things, a lot of sacred hymns will also be sung.”
“Yes there are some local performers, unfortunately I cannot give you names. We will be having one dance group, we will also be having a young man who will be playing the trumpet, he’ll be doing the “Trumpet Valley”, we’ll be having steel drums and the St. Mary’s choir, so it’ll be quite a mixture.”
The St. Mary’s concert begins at 7:30 tonight, while St. John’s Cathedral will get its share of gospel music on January 20th. The team travels to St. Peter’s Anglican I Orange Walk on January 21st.
