Fatal Accident in Indian Creek Village
In southern Belize, there was a fatal road traffic accident in Indian Creek Village. Police say a notice of intended prosecution has been issued to Guillermo Cus and blood samples taken in the wake of the incident that took the life Miguel Sam. Sam, who is reportedly a relative of Cus, was knocked off his bicycle. He was rushed to the Punta Gorda Hospital, but pronounced dead on arrival. Deputy Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch is Senior Superintendent Hilbert Romero who shared more about the investigation.

“Guillermo Cus, seventy-one years, reported that he was driving his Mazda pickup on the Southern Highway when suddenly he observed a male person exit from a yard and came onto his path and as a result, he attempted to avoid hitting the person, but he hit the person who was on a bicycle. The male person was escorted to the Punta Gorda Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival as he received several head and body injuries. The victim was identified as Miguel Sam, eighty-five years, of Indian Creek Village, Toledo District.”
