Former City Administrator Receiving Monthly Installments from Belize CitCo

Mayor Bernard Wagner also spoke about the council’s legal battle with former City Administrator Candice Miller who is now employed at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Before the People’s United Party took over City Hall, Miller’s contract was extended and it contained a significant increase in her annual salary. The present council terminated her contract and Miller successfully sued for wrongful termination and the Supreme Court ordered that Miller be paid some four hundred thousand dollars. Wagner and his council have filed a claim which is still before the courts but the mayor says that the council is adhering to the payment scheduled demanded by Miller.

“It is still at the courts. We can’t discuss it. We want to ensure that the court ruling is not just put aside and set aside with no disregard with the ruling of the court so any decision we made on that held that in context.”
