Dara’s Feeding Programme is Off Life Support
So Chef Tim August was the guest chef for the day at Dara’s Feeding Programme on Tuesday. He cooked for and fed over fifty students. It was a special treat that Dara welcomed. As you’ll recall, Dara was recently in our news because his programme was on life support. The funds were dried up and he couldn’t afford to continue the programme. But since then he has received overwhelming support and today he gave us an update on his appeal for help.
Joel ‘Dara’ Robinson, Founder, The Dara Feeding Programme
“Since I made the appeal, businesses and common grassroots man and woman have reached out to me about how they can support and with many ideas. Mi wife feel that she can cook very comfortable and now I nuh have to tell ah that ‘girl, we only have rice or meat or chicken mek we continue use.’ So, now she the try mek the food as healthy. We also have kids who come to this programme who have diabetes and suh. So, we the try cook healthier so deh could eat. So, once we have the resources and the finance and the kind of food that we could cook like that.”

“You guys are no longer on life support?”

Definitely we nuh deh on life support and deh kids wah benefit definitely until another five or six months they should be alright with the outpour of support that came in and continue to come in. Here at home and abroad people the try and the set up different things to try get help.”
