North side kids celebrate late Christmas
Yesterday we reported that some kids on the south side of Belize City received a late Christmas treat. It seems that they were not the only ones that Santa took a little extra time getting to. This afternoon a swarm of children from the north side of town invaded the Queen Street Baptist Church after learning that a party and plenty of gifts were waiting for them.

“The general idea of the spirit of Christmas is giving and to share with them these gifts, but also to point out again that the greater gift is Jesus Christ. We are giving about five hundred to six hundred gifts today. The gifts they are getting are like toys, teddy bears and also there is some stationary such as pencils, papers and books. So it’s a mixture of gifts they’re receiving today.”
“Because we have a school here, so naturally we would give these children here. But we also target the Pickstock Street area, the children in that area as well as the children through Majestic Alley. These are the two nearest areas to our location.”
The toys were furnished by the Good Samaritan Purse, an evangelical organization from Canada.
