More from Lev Dermen Trial in Utah
Attorneys for Lev Dermen trial are cross examining Jacob Kingston in the Salt Lake Court and the defense has been carrying on about Kingston’s participation in past frauds and schemes. There has been nothing new on Belize. But this morning, presiding Judge Jill Parrish granted the U.S. Government a motion to exclude any evidence regarding alleged incest or child abuse by the Davis Country Cooperative Society known as the Order where Kingston is an associate. The motion also extends to alleged possession of child pornography or underage sex by Jacob Kingston. The government brought ten counts of money laundering related charges against Dermen and it is arguing that the allegations therefore bear no relevance to the criminal charges on the testimony of the Kingstons. In short, Dermen’s allegations against his former business in respect of incest and underage sex will not be allowed in trial.
