A Call to Join the N.T.U.C.B.
As we said, the theme of Thursday’s demonstration by the N.T.U.C.B. is “Only the People Can Save the People” and as such union leaders, today made a call for members of the public to join the march. Senator Elena Smith says that the demonstration is not solely focused on the Saldivar Scandal but on governance on a whole.
Marvin Mora, President, N.T.U.C.B
“We are open for any organization that wants to come along and join us as long as they understand that our movement is a people movement. Our demonstration is open. We will have to have decision both with those people who have already expressed interest in joining the N.T.U.C.B. Also along with our general council, the major body. The option is open. We will have to look at what will be their position as well so we have discussion pending with them which will have very shortly because they have indicated that they want to meet with the N.T.U.C.B.”
Senator Elena Smith, National President, B.N.T.U.
“We are calling on our partners, our social partners, students and the public in general. As Brother Mora mentioned this is not a fight against a particular party or government. It is about our governance and our country. For that reason we are saying it’s for all persons who are concerns with what his happening in our country. Putting the matter of Mr. Saldivar and looking at other issues we have. We are not focusing on that one point but we are focusing on governance on a whole.”
